TARMAC SL8 EXPERT SATIN CHAMPAGNE/BLACK PEARL
There's nothing faster than the Tarmac SL8. The reason? The combination we have achieved between aerodynamics, lightness and a driving quality that until recently seemed impossible. Eight generations later and after more than two decades of development, it is not only the fastest Tarmac ever: it is also the fastest racing bike in the world.
Competitions are not only won by aerodynamics or lightness: the important thing is speed. And to get it, you have to create a combination without aerodynamic concessions, lightness, stiffness and comfort. Our Ride Science team has simulated races with real data and has discovered that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest road bike ever manufactured on the most important routes: 16.6 seconds faster in 40 km, 128 seconds faster in Milan San Remo and 20 seconds faster on the legendary climb of the Tourmalet.
CHARACTERISTICS
- 100 % AERO: We have placed aerodynamic elements where they are really needed, not only where they look good. And so, we got our most aerodynamic road bike. Yeah, more than the Venge. With the Speed Sniffer, the new cone of the Tarmac, clean air is optimized to get the ultimate advantage. As you move the back direction pipe (which determines the angle of the steering tube), the direction tube attack edge is much sharper and the form that is created has much lower aerodynamic resistance. Taking advantage of the new ICU rules, the Tarmac SL8 has the narrowest and most aerodynamic sillion tile we have made to date. In this way, the dirty air around the legs flows in a cleaner way back. The victories have a sweet taste, right?
- MÍNIMO PESO, MÁXIMA AERODINÁMICA: Thanks to the lessons learned with the Aethos, the Tarmac SL8 has been designed to meet the minimum requirements of the ICU and offer a 100% aero construction. The team has created an incredible 685 grams box, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other World Tour box*. We have also applied what we learned with the Aethos to prioritize the lightness of the lower tube, the seat tube and the back of the bicycle. The shape of the box supports the load so efficiently that it is not necessary to add extra carbon layers. *Unless you count the time Kasper Asgreen took our 585 gram Aethos painting at a stage of the Tour de France.
- VA LIKE A COHETE, SE CONDUCE OF LUJO: with an optimized stiffness-weight ratio (33% better than the SL7), the Tarmac SL8 offers a legendary driving, an aggressive response and a proven geometry in world championships that are of another level. The bike is more rigid on the pedals, more precise on the handlebar and more comfortable on the seat, so it sets a new standard of comfort on the racing bikes. Thanks to our Rider- EngineeringFirst, all cyclists, regardless of their size, can enjoy a driving and control quality that had not been seen so far. In the saddle, the Tarmac SL8 offers 6 % more comfort: it floats on irregular terrain and offers a softness that is not very common in the demanding world of racing bikes. The Tarmac geometry and the free space for 32 mm tyres are identical to those of the SL7, which ensures easy adaptation and the possibility of using larger tyres when necessary.
- MORE OVER THE GÉNERO: We can find more differences between two male cyclists than between a man and a woman. Gender alone does not provide enough data to make it the only factor in designing a bike. That is why creating bicycles for men or women alone is a thing of the past. All cyclists can enjoy the advantages of the Tarmac SL8. It's time to go beyond the genus.
- The Tarmac SL8 Expert offers exceptional performance. Set up a complete group SRAM Rival eTap AXS with potentiometer, a C38 carbon wheel set, compatible with tubeless, and a SL7 power with Specialized Expert Shallow Drop handlebar of aluminum. All this makes it an accessible bike and full of benefits.
